La Tour de Mare, a coveted address in Fréjus

A high-end residential area in Fréjus, La Tour de Mare was created by Jean Martinon, a banker from Nice wanting to build a new neighbourhood for artists. Laid out around the Cocteau Chapel, La Tour de Mare has become a prized address among locals in the upper socio-professional category

A real entrance gate to nature, La Tour de Mare is home to some 8,000 privileged residents a short walk to a forest of age-old pines, and not far from the sandy beaches. The main agency for La Tour de Mare, Bersan Immobilier focuses on sales of quality and high-end properties consisting 80 % of villas. After recently inaugurating a second agency in Saint-Raphaël in the midst of the Valescure golf-course area, Bersan Immobilier has won a sound reputation. As Manager of these two agencies, Bernard Santos is delighted to see the market’s return to “normality” after the years of frenzy that followed the pandemic.

“We definitely saw a slowdown from the end of 2023 to the start of 2024, though since the month of April more clients have been getting back in touch and setting their sights on transactions of quality. In that interim period, we were able to build up our stocks and are now in a position to propose two or three properties for each request, to take the time to work serenely while allowing our clients a precious pause for reflection without fearing that they will see their property snatched away.”

Posting stable prices, La Tour de Mare thus now presents a good supply of proposals meeting demand. Offering houses and villas from 350,000 to 1 million euros, Bersan agency clients mainly have budgets ranging from 600,000 to 800,000 €, with 80% of them looking for permanent new homes. Retirees from large French cities or executives working within the region, they fall for the charm of this quiet neighbourhood, leafy and secure. “Our active buyers include numerous executives in the hospital sector, self-employed professionals, even engineers from Sophia-Antipolis, who find traveling times here advantageous as compared with towns in the Alpes Maritimes, especially as the majority of them no longer need to drive every day to their workplaces since the arrival of teleworking,” explains Bernard Santos.

“We assist each client in a personalized way, staying by their sides before, during, and after the orchestration of the sale. Mostly working on exclusive mandates, we make ourselves available to provide bespoke advice and services. Our clients are well aware of this, appreciate our values, and readily recommend us to their families and friends.”
